106^th FOCARS Scientist-Probationers Conducted Agri-Quiz For Visiting Farmers In National Oilseed Kisan Mela At ICAR-IIOR, Hyderabad

National Oilseed Kisan Mela was organized on 10th Sept. 2017 at ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseed Research (IIOR, formerly DOR), Hyderabad. More than 1000 farmers from 12 different states across the nation participated in this Mela. The Scientist-Probationers from 106th FOCARS Batch of NAARM actively participated in different events of Mela and had interaction with the farmers. They also conducted a Agri-quiz for the visiting farmers. Around 400 farmers participated in this quiz in multiple groups of 40 each. The questions were asked in different languages Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, etc. covering all the aspects of agriculture and allied sciences along with the general knowledge of the ongoing Government schemes/programmes. The Scientist-Probationers also discussed with farmers about problems related to agri-marketing and crop production and protection know-how. The winners of all the groups were awarded with First, Second and Third prizes. The Programme was successfully concluded with interaction between farmers and trainee scientists and formal vote of thanks. The 106th FOCARS is being coordinated by Dr. Ranjit Kumar and Dr. Surya Rathore.
