4th International Day of Yoga on 21st June, 2018

NAARM celebrated the 4th edition of International Day of Yoga on 21st June, 2018. About 250 participants including students from local high school, PGDM students and trainees of Academy, employees of ICAR institutes in Hyderabad and campus residents took part in the celebration. The yoga practice session as per revised common yoga protocol (CYP) as circulated by Govt of India was performed from 6-00 to 7-00 am at the lake view lawn in front of the auditorium.
The highlight of this year IDY celebration was involvement of a renowned Orthopedic surgeon Dr Ratnakar Rao as chief guest in the program. He, himself participated in the entire duration of yoga session. He also talked about benefits of yoga and vitamin D deficiency, among school children and how manage it.
Dr Ch Srinivasa Rao, Director ICAR-NAARM felicitated the chief guest and the two yoga instructors Mrs Haseena and Mrs Padma also addressed the audience.
Refreshments (sprouts, millet biscuits, banana and flavored milk) befitting Yoga day celebration were distributed to all the participants at the end of the program.

Dr A Debnath, academy’s medical officer and also a yoga instructor coordinated the whole program and also informed about importance of yoga in our day to day life.
