Master trainers’ programme for Soft Skills and Agri-Entrepreneurship concludes at ICAR-NAARM

The Academy has organised Training of Trainers’ (ToT) workshop for faculty members of State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) to develop Soft skills and Entrepreneurship among Agri-graduates during September 17-18, 2019. This ToT has been organized with an attempt to create a pool of Master trainers in agricultural universities who would in turn train the Agri-graduates in their respective universities. The Workshop was organized as a part of the World Bank sponsored National Agricultural Higher Education Project Component – 2A.

Thirty-four faculty members representing 23 State Agricultural Universities belonging to 16 states namely; Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh., West Bengal., Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Assam participated in the workshop. Consequent upon the completion of Master trainers’ programme, each participant will   organize one-day workshop on “Development of Soft skills for Entrepreneurship among Agri Graduates” at their respective universities covering at least 100 students. The master trainers have been entrusted with the responsibility of training around 3000 Agri-graduates as a follow up action plan of the workshop.

Dr. SK Soam, CPI, NAHEP & Joint Director, NAARM highlighted the importance of project and intimated that Career Development Centres (CDCs) would be established at designated SAUs of the country, faculty members of SAUs may also be offered specialized trainings at leading management institutes of the country.

Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM offered to extend handholding support to selected SAUs to create awareness among the Agri-graduates for entrepreneurship development guided on action plan in next 4 months for taking up activities in different states.
