MDP on Priority Setting, Monitoring & Evaluation (PME) for Agricultural Research Projects held at ICAR-NAARM

The 7th Management Development Programme (MDP) on Priority setting, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) of agricultural research projects for the In-charges of PME Cell of ICAR institutions was organized by the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research and Management (NAARM) during 18-23 July 2019.

The Heads of PME Cell from 32 ICAR institutions, nominated by the Director General of ICAR, participated in the program. The MDP comprised of modules on concepts and principles of prioritization, monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment of agricultural research projects. The participants were given hands-on training on the various software tools developed by ICAR-NAARM for project management. They were sensitized on the various metrics and tools used for measuring individual and institutional research performance, global and national frameworks for measuring research efficiency and ICAR guidelines pertaining to the various functions of PME Cell like managing research publications, consultancy services and contract research. The participants were provided hands-on training to use and practice various tools and applications for research review, project proposal preparation, checking plagiarism and choosing appropriate journals for research communication.

The program concluded on 23 July 2019 and Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM delivered the valedictory address and distributed the certificates.
