Multivariate data analysis training programme concluded on Dec.20, 2017

The training programme on Multivariate data analysis was conducted at ICAR-NAARM during Dec. 14-20, 2017 to impart knowledge of multivariate data analysis and the use of R. The programme was attended by 27 trainees in the cadre of scientists and above representing 12 states.  A majority of them (23) was from ICAR institutions and 10 were women candidates. The trainees belong to various disciplines related to crop sciences, livestock, fisheries, statistics and social sciences. The programme imparted knowledge on various multivariate techniques including cluster analysis, principal component analysis, factor analysis, multi-dimensional scaling and canonical correlation. The participants had hands-on session using R and all practical sessions were conducted using R. The concluding session was held on Dec.20, 2017 afternoon, in which participants expressed great learning experience. The director of the Academy, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao stressed course directors of the programme, Dr. Dhandapani and Dr.Sivaramane N., to assess how this training programme has helped the participants in research, teaching and training in due course of time at regular intervals.
