NAARM Celebrate 42nd Foundation Day

The ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM) celebrated 42nd Foundation Day on 1st September 2017. Dr SM Virmani, a renowned natural resources expert, who was the Chief Guest for the function, delivered a ‘Foundation Day Lecture’ on ‘‘Reshaping the Indian Agriculture for Doubling Farmers Income’. During his lecture he stressed upon that NAARM should work as instrument of change through a demand driven ‘New NAARM’. NAARM is a unique institution, which deals with human resources development, therefore curriculum needs to address those requirements, which help the scientists to work in such a way that they are able to contribute for doubling the farmers income by 2022. Dr Ch. Srinivasa Rao, the Director of NAARM in his presidential remarks said that staff has to be committed par excellence with highest work efficiency. The training content to be innovative and address the changed scenario in the country. He also informed that specialized workshops have been planned and Academy is working on various policy papers.
