NAHEP National Workshop on Academic Excellence Organized at ICAR-NAARM
The National Workshop on Academic Excellence through Building Partnerships and Resources Generation was organized at ICAR – NAARM under National Agricultural Higher Education Project Component 2A. This two-day national workshop was inaugurated by Dr NS Rathore, DDG (Education), ICAR in the presence of Dr Ch Srinivasa Rao, Director NAARM, Dr Vishnu Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner. While inaugurating the workshop Dr Rathore emphasized that partnerships are well knit if they are based on the objectivity, transparency, effectiveness, fairness and inclusiveness. Building partnerships is necessary for academic excellence and resource generation as well, Universities may start with locally potential institutions. Dr. Vishnu Sharma categorically indicated that rote type of MoUs doesn’t serve the purpose; but requires effective partnerships with diverse agencies. Dr. Srinivasa Rao in his presidential remarks, stressed that resource generation is very much essential for its excellence and survival for the organization. The stakeholders should be at the centre stage. Dr Prabhat Kumar, National Coordinator Component 2A laid stress on the learning perspectives and over all development of students. Dr Sudeep Marwaha and Dr D Thammi Raju shared the details of NAHEP project Component 2A – Investments in Indian Council of Agricultural Research Leadership in Agricultural Higher Education with the participants.
The programme was organized by ICAR-NAARM, IASRI and Education Division of the Council involving all the Principal Investigators of NAHEP and ICAR Nodal Officers of 26 SAUs. The key speakers of the programme are Dr Sudha Mysore, CEO, Agri Innovate India Limited, New Delhi; Dr K. Vijayaraghavan, Chairman of Sathguru Management Consultants, Hyderabad; Dr D Rama Rao, Ex-Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad and ICAR Emeritus Scientist, PJTSAU, Hyderabad and Dr Suman Preet Singh Khanuja, Former Director of Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP/ CSIR), Lucknow.
