Work Experience
- Dr.Ranjith L has been serving as Senior Scientist (Agricultural Research Management) in the Division of Research Systems Management, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad since June 2025. He belongs to the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) 2010 batch and 94th Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Services (FOCARS) of ICAR. On successful completion as Scientist (Trainee) at ICAR-NAARM, he joined ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi.
- He has served as Senior Scientist, Marine Biodiversity and Environment Management Division, Regional Station of ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Thoothukudi since 2011. He contributed 11 externally funded projects from various agencies, including ICAR-NICRA, FAO-BOBLME, NABARD, DBT-MoS&T, MoES-CMLRE, MPEDA-MoC&I, PMMSY-DoF, ACOPTAX-MoEF&CC, and 18 institutional projects related to marine fisheries and mariculture. He has undertaken research studies on various aspects, such as aquatic environment assessment and fisheries resource management, coastal and marine biodiversity and conservation, ecosystem-based biodiversity loss and economic valuation, remote sensing and climate change, climate smart villages, and Integrated Multi-tropic Aquaculture.
- He has published 69 research papers in international (30) and national (39) peer-reviewed journals, three books/monographs, two policy papers, nine book chapters, seven training manuals, and 48 popular/technical articles. He guided four PhD students and 12 master’s students from different universities of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Maharashtra. He also conducted several trainings/workshops/awareness programs/seminars and published posts/leaflets. As coordinators, conveners, team members, or resource experts delivered lectures and imparted skill development programs to translate research results into practical recommendations for farmers and stakeholders.
- He has Received Best Performer Award (2025) in the NABARD 44th Foundation Day for successful implementation of ICAR-CMFRI-FSPF project of NABARD-RO, Chennai; Prof. N. R. Menon Memorial Award (2019) as team member by Marine Biological Association of India, Kochi; Certificate of Merit (2011) as Grade A in the 94th FOCARS at ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad; Alltech Young Scientist (Regional Winner India-2010) in the Global graduate competition by Alltech; Dr. Hiralal Chaudhuri Gold Medal (2007-2009) for first position in the MFSc (Aquatic Environment Management) of ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai, and awarded ICAR Fellowships for pursuing the MFSc (2007-2009) & PhD (2009-2012) program in ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai.
